We will ride the 1st leg of the New Mexico BDR. The day will have numerous miles of mountain ranges along with some amazing scenery. We will travel on tarmac and dirt roads to start off this journey. The highlights will be the Guadalupe Rim, breathtaking views of the Brokeoff and Sacramento mountain ranges. The route will take us by White Sands National Monument before heading into the quant mountain town of Cloudcroft, NM. This magnificent day will end in Ruidoso NM.
To see more details of the 1st section of the NMBDR you should visit the official New Mexico BDR website

Tuesday May 10, 2022 - New Mexico at it's finest
Today we will have a good day of exploring New Mexico. We will go towards the White Sands Missile Range on our journey. There is a long stretch of sandy track on this day, so please be prepared. There are also long stretches of miles with no services. We will fuel up at every chance that we get. The support vehicle will have a limited amount of fuel onboard as well for emergencies. New Mexico is grand and today we will experience all of that and more. We will finish the day in the town of Truth or Consequences, NM located just south of the Lake at Elephant Butte.

Wednesday May 11, 2022 - Could be the most remote section of the NMBDR
Today could be the most challenging section of the journey. We will fuel up and stock up on supplies as we head into the famous Chloride Canyon. The trail will cross the creek over 100+ times on this day. This is a technical section of the BDR. There are bypass areas that will allow these very technical sections to be skipped, based on your riding or driving skill level. This will be something that we discuss prior to hitting the trail. Beautiful lakes, high elevation and more beautiful scenery await us on this day. We will finish up outside Reserve, NM. Tonight we will be staying at the Hidden Spring Inn where dinner will be served! It should be a great way to end this special day.

Thursday May 12, 2022 - Wide open spaces
Today we will visit a number of areas that will be scattered with New Mexico Pinon and Juniper. We might be lucky and catch a few of the ancient cliff dwellings along the route. We will be in some of the most desolate areas in the country. We will have plenty of time to visit a few overlooks that will confirm just how small we truly are, in the grand scheme of things. This is a beauty that only New Mexico can provide. We will finish this leg in Grants, NM. Today will be a day to remember. Don't forget to fuel up when possible.

Friday May 13, 2022 - The wild wild west
This 120 miles is very remote and will have many challenges awaiting us. Mainly the sand. It will be plentiful and in some sections deep. This will be a slow go and a good test of everyone's abilities. We will take it easy and end of the day in Cuba, NM we will have stories to share. Just another fun day in the Land of Enchantment

Saturday May 14, 2022 - A day of perfection
The best has been saved for this last leg of the NMBDR. More beautiful scenery will greet us on this last day of the NMBDR. It will also throw at us one last challenge. This area has a few obstacles that will require climbing some rocky ledges. There is a bypass available for this section of the trail. This will not be the place to try new things. If you feel your skill level is not where it should be for this section, then enjoy the beautiful views and tarmac of the bypass. We will finish the day in Chama, NM. Just a few miles short of the end of the NMBDR. But don't worry we will complete this little section tomorrow as we start our journey back to Carlsbad, NM

Sunday May 15, 2022 - The end of the NMBDR, then off to Route 66
We will have a nice New Mexico breakfast before heading to Antonio, CO and the true end of the official BDR. From here we will take a few photos to capture the feeling of completing the BDR. We will then meander our way via the enchanted circle to Santa Rosa, NM and the famous route 66. Not a bad way to spend a Sunday.

Monday May 16, 2022 - Last leg of this amazing adventure.
It will be a short day as we make our way down through Fort Sumner to Roswell, to visit the alien museums and enjoy this eclectic little town. The last part of the trip will be into Carlsbad where everyone can load up and prepare for the drive home on Tuesday. However tonight we will enjoy a good meal and share some stories and memories from this fantastic journey through the Land of Enchantment. Everyone will be headed their own sperate ways tomorrow, with a ton of memories to share when they get safely home.
