Blue Bonnet Ride – Texas Hill Country
COG / TCAT – Blue Bonnet Ride – April 7-9, 2006 Hunt, Texas Miles: 946
FRIDAY – We started off for the trip on Friday Afternoon. We had the bikes loaded and gassed and we were on the road by 1:09PM. We did the Dallas metro-plex schuffle, dodging cars, trucks and other large vehicles. We got out of town and hit 67 towards Cleburne. We went down to Commanche Texas and jumped on 16. This is when it hit me that we were away from town and heading down to the hill country. Good times were going to be had by all. The bad news was the WIND! Not gusts, or a few heavy winds, no this was mile after mile of 35-40 MPH winds. Not the best stuff for riding, but we fought on. This was the first time, I really noticed how good the bar risers feel. My wrists are not killing me and it does not feel like I am wrestling with the bike. I should have gotten the risers much earlier in my concours life. I need to thank Old Paul for the risers. He is way to good to me. Thanks again Paul.

We hung out and then rode the rest of the way to the Rivers Inn in Hunt Texas. We were in our room, sleeping by 10:30. We were beat from all of the wind, but we were there and it was going to be a great weekend.
