Headed home – What a great trip!
The day had come for us to break camp and head back to Big D. We have enjoyed our time in TN and NC. It will be another place that we will visit again in the future.

The alarm went off at 6;30am and Jamie and I had camp broke down and we were ready to hit the road by 8am. Jamie and I have gotten into a great routine when breaking down camp. We each have our tasks and it makes for a quick and easy breakdown. The only bummer about the entire thing is that it reminds us that our time has come to and end for our visit and that our vacation was coming to end end, much quicker than we wanted it to.

During our week long stay at the camp ground we had become friends with two ladies who had camped in the small cabins the same amount of time as we had been camping. Krystal and Tracy had joined up to ride for the week. I forgot who was from where, I do remember that one came form the Atlanta area and the other rode down from the Knoxville area. They were both leaving to go visit other friends. One headed to Charlotte to visit her son and the other going to Memphis. These ladies rode all week long, in all kinds of weather and logged many miles. They had great stories and we enjoyed our time with them. We hope that our paths cross again in the near future. This is just another reason that riding and camping on a motorcycle is such a fun thing to do.

We would be remiss if we did not mention our hosts at the Hunts Motorcycle Lodge and campgrounds. Lori was fantastic. Each day she would come and make sure everything was good and if we needed anything. This place was amazing to stay at. Great camp sites, the bathrooms were very clean and they thought of things that made our stay so nice. This included a free washer and dryer, a gear dryer just in case your gear got wet in one of the frequent afternoon showers and even boot dryers. They also had a place for an industrial coffee pot. This was so nice and made for a great cup of coffee in the evenings while hanging out by the fire pit or in the chilly early mornings, when you crawl out of your tent and nothing tatses better than a fresh brewed cup of coffee. It is right off the Cherohalla and easily within quick riding to some of the best roads in the area. We will definitely be staying there again and will recommend it with the highest of ratings! If you rid ea motorcycle and camp this is the place to stay! Here are a few pics from the campground.
