What a beautiful Fall day for a Ride – Edom Texas.

What a beautiful November day to ride. Its not often that the forecast predicts 70+ temps this late in the year. So what should one do with this good fortune? Ride I say.. RIDE!

I posted a quick note to some friends and before you know it we had 8 people wanting to join our little Turkey Trot. Rob, Al, Alexis, Mark, Herman, Thomas and Rex made up the group. It had been awhile since I had seen Thomas, it was great catching up with him. It was also good to ride some with Al & Alexis. We have not rode a lot together, but always love their company. We did miss Jackie as he had his bike torn apart doing some routine maintenance.  I arrived at the meeting location around 8:15. I like to arrive early so I can get a cup of coffee and have some oatmeal without being rushed. The weather was not cold but the fog was very thick. Going over the lake I could not see 50 foot in front of me. The sun was coming out so I was hoping that it would burn off before our departure.  Herman was already there. He was speaking with a few guys that I did not know. They were on some cool bikes. His new friends had one thing in common, they were all from someplace besides the US. Two were from Brazil and one was from Holland just down the road form Herman’s home town. It is a small world indeed. They were very friendly and it just added to the day to get to speak with them.

The gang all showed up and was fueled ready to hit the road. We left around 9:15 as it was starting to clear up and the roads were starting to dry up as well. We took a nice little route to the Shed in Edom. The colors in East Texas were so brilliant. The wet made the colors shine. It was a beautiful morning. Since we did have a group of eight, I did not stop to take any pictures. I just enjoyed the ride.
