11 Days to Go… The Moab Adventure Countdown Is On 🚙🏜️🔥

We are officially 11 days away from our epic Moab getaway, and the anticipation is building in the best possible way. This is the kind of trip that reminds us why we love adventure travel, big landscapes, capable rigs, great people, and stories that only get better around the campfire each night.

Before we roll west, I wanted to share a few reminders and give everyone a quick look at what the week is going to feel like.

Navigation Prep Matters

If you are using OnX, Gaia, or any other navigation app, make sure you download your offline routes before arriving in Moab. Cell service can be spotty (or nonexistent) once we get out on the trails. A little preparation now will make the days run smoother and help everyone stay confident and on track.

Here’s What the Week Looks Like

Sunday – March 22

Arrival day. Settle into camp at Sun Outdoors Moab Downtown, get your rig set up, relax, and soak in that red rock energy. That evening we’ll kick things off with a group meet-up at Moab Brewery. Great food, cold drinks, and the perfect chance to connect before the adventure officially begins.

Monday – March 23

We start easing into adventure mode. You’ll have two breakfast options to start the day:

  • Cook at camp

  • Head into town to the Moab Diner

We will have a meeting point and depart for the trails at 8:30 AM sharp, so plan accordingly.

Make sure to bring your lunch, because we’ll be eating on the trail surrounded by canyon views and wide-open desert. Dinner that evening is flexible, back at camp or in town. Jamie and I will be cooking at camp, and we’ll have a dedicated space to hang out, unwind, and enjoy the fire together.

Tuesday – March 24

Another big adventure day. Again, you’ll have two breakfast options:

  • Breakfast at camp

  • Head into town for breakfast at Cactus Jack’s

We’ll depart for the trails at 8:30 AM, and once again we’ll be packing lunches for the trail.

Dinner plans remain flexible just like the night before, camp or town. And yes… more relaxing around the fire. Because honestly, that’s where some of the best moments happen.

Wednesday – March 25

Rise and shine… early.

We’ll be heading into Arches National Park for sunrise, bringing breakfast along and capturing some truly incredible images. Watching the sun light up the red rock formations is one of those experiences that sticks with you long after the trip ends. After sunrise we’ll hit the trails, then return to town for lunch before heading back out for more afternoon exploration.

This is our final night together, so dinner can be in town or at camp, followed by one last evening around the fire sharing laughs, memories, and maybe already talking about the next adventure.

Campfire Culture – Why These Trips Matter 🔥

At the end of every trail day in Moab, when the engines cool and the dust settles, something special happens.

Chairs get unfolded. Coolers get opened. Someone starts a story that turns into ten. The glow of the fire replaces the glare of the sun, and suddenly the trip shifts from being about terrain and vehicles to being about people. This is campfire culture, and it’s one of the biggest reasons these adventures matter.

During the day, we challenge ourselves. We focus on line choice, communication, capability, and trust in our vehicles. But at night, we connect. We laugh about the obstacle that looked impossible until it wasn’t. We celebrate small victories. We help each other troubleshoot gear, plan tomorrow’s route, or just sit quietly and watch the stars take over the sky.

These moments build something deeper than just memories. They build community.

Trips like this bring together people from different backgrounds, different places, and different levels of experience, and by the end of the week, it feels like we’ve known each other for years. The shared adventure creates a bond that doesn’t fade when the trip ends.

Some of the best conversations you’ll ever have happen around a campfire. No distractions. No rush. Just good people, real stories, and the satisfaction of knowing you earned the day together.

So yes, Moab is about incredible trails and jaw-dropping scenery. But it’s also about something simpler… and more meaningful.

It’s about pulling up a chair, feeling the warmth of the fire, and realizing this is exactly where you’re meant to be. This trip is shaping up to be something truly special. Moab has a way of bringing people together, through challenge, beauty, shared effort, and those quiet moments when you realize just how lucky we are to experience places like this. Get your gear ready. Prep your navigation. Pack your sense of adventure. Moab is almost here… and it’s going to be unforgettable.

What to Expect on Moab Trails 🚙💥

If this is your first time wheeling in Moab… get ready. And if you’ve been here before, you already know why this place keeps calling people back.

Moab trails are unlike almost anything else in the country. Instead of mud, deep forest, or loose sand, much of what you’ll experience is slickrock, solid sandstone that provides incredible traction but also demands focus and good line choice. You’ll find yourself climbing what looks impossible, easing down steep descents, and navigating terrain that feels more like driving on another planet than on Earth.

Expect technical switchbacks, shelf roads with big views, ledges to crawl over, and sections that reward patience and smooth throttle control. This is not about speed. It’s about capability, confidence, and working with your vehicle to solve the puzzle in front of you.

You’ll also encounter water crossings on trails like Onion Creek, where the depth can change depending on recent weather. Most crossings are mild, but heavy rain can transform familiar routes into much more complex challenges. That’s part of the adventure, and why flexibility and preparation are key.

The good news? Moab offers something for everyone. Many trails provide relaxed scenic cruising mixed with optional technical moments, allowing drivers to build confidence while still feeling the thrill of true off-road exploration.

And then there are the views.

Massive red rock towers. Endless canyon systems. Big desert skies that seem to go on forever. There will be moments where you stop the vehicle, step out, and just take it all in, realizing this is exactly why you signed up for the trip.

Moab isn’t just a destination. It’s an experience. And you’re about to live it.
