We are officially 11 days away from our epic Moab getaway, and the anticipation is building in the best possible way. This is the kind of trip that reminds us why we love adventure travel, big landscapes, capable rigs, great people, and stories that only get better around the campfire each night. Before we roll west, I wanted to share a few reminders and give everyone a quick look at what the week is going to feel like.

It always starts the same way: a cup of coffee gone cold, a kitchen table slowly disappearing under maps, notes, and an inner dialog that included, “What if we went this way instead?” Before the engine fires and the side stand comes up, the ride has already begun.

If you ride a sport-touring bike, chances are you don’t measure rides in minutes, you measure them in fuel stops, state lines, and how many more miles you have to do tomorrow. We put real miles on our machines, and that means chain maintenance isn’t optional, it’s just part of the rhythm of riding.

There’s a special kind of regret that only motorcyclists know. It usually starts about 40 miles into a ride, when the backpack straps dig into your shoulders, your jacket vents are blocked, and you realize you packed like you were moving apartments instead of going for a ride.

Once you’re rolling, you forget it’s even there, which is kind of the point. Navigation, music, calls, Siri… it all works like it should. And not having to dig your phone out or mess with cables at every stop is one of those small upgrades that ends up making a big difference on longer rides

Trail Ridge Road, 48 miles of US 34 winding between Grand Lake and Estes Park, is one of those rare routes that stays with you long after the engine cools.
