Ready to Pack and Ride: Testing Viking Momentum Saddlebags on My Honda NT1100

There’s nothing quite like getting an email that gives you another reason to plan a motorcycle trip!

Viking Bags just let me know they will be sending us their Momentum Extra Large Expandable Street/Sportsbike Saddlebags, and I’m excited to get my hands on them. As soon as they arrive, we’ll start checking them out and sharing our experience with the Jerry & Jamie 2UP community.

If you’ve followed our adventures, you know I already have the Viking Momentum Extra Large Street/Sportbike Tail Bag, and it has been fantastic. That experience has me looking forward to seeing how these saddlebags perform and how they work alongside the tail bag. Because apparently, the answer to “Do we have room for that?” is to get more luggage!

What Has Me Excited

According to Viking, these saddlebags offer 40 liters of combined storage, an expandable design, and heavy-duty Cordura construction with rigid sides to help them hold their shape. They also feature a throw-over mounting system, included mounting straps, waterproof liners, reflective piping, and MOLLE attachments for extra gear. Carry handles and additional zippered pockets round out the practical features.

That sounds like a promising setup for weekend escapes and longer sport touring adventures. But the real questions start when we get them on the motorcycle and pack them for a ride.

What We’ll Be Looking At

I plan to try them on my Honda NT1100 and share what installation actually involves, how they fit, and how convenient they are to use. We’ll look at usable packing space, access to our gear, how securely they stay in place, and how they work with the Momentum tail bag.

Getting luggage packed in the garage is one thing. Living with it on the road is where you learn whether it makes traveling easier. Can you reach what you need without unpacking half the bike? Are the bags easy to remove when the riding day is over? Those are the details I want to share with you.

We’ll begin with an arrival and first-impressions update, then follow up with a fuller review after we’ve had time to put them to use.

A big thank you to Viking Bags for providing these saddlebags for us to review. My experience with the tail bag has been excellent, and I’m looking forward to giving these the same real-world attention.

Take a look at the Viking Momentum Saddlebags here, and stay tuned to Moto Adrenaline Tours and our Jerry & Jamie 2UP YouTube channel for updates!
